Rihanna will perform during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in Glendale, Ariz., on Feb 12, 2023, which is confirmed to be sponsored by Apple Music.
As the N.F.L. enters into their first-year sponsorship deal with Apple Music, replacing Pepsi, Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president for Apple Music and Beats says, “We’re excited to partner with Rihanna, Roc Nation and the N.F.L. to bring music and sports fans a momentous show.”

This show announcement has sparked so much buzz as this will be Rihanna’s first debut back on stage since her last public performance at the Grammy’s in 2018 and her most recent solo album, “Anti,” release in January of 2016.
During her time off from publicly releasing new music, Rihanna has birthed a business empire with a chain of consumer brands which includes, Fenty Beauty, her all-inclusive cosmetic and beauty brand, Fenty Skin, her skincare line and Savage X Fenty, her lingerie and loungewear line.
Collectively between her brands and artistry, Rihanna has a net worth of $1.7 billion, accordingly to Forbes.
The last Super Bowl in 2019, held in Inglewood, Ca., presented hometown rap icons Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, and singer Mary J. Blige. The halftime show also included rapper Eminem, who ended his performance referencing Colin Kaepernick’s “take a knee” protest, by kneeling at the end of the song “Lose Yourself.”
After the backlash from Kaepernick’s kneeling protests and the projected loss of a great deal of audience support, the N.F.L. signed Jay-Z and Roc Nation, the rapper’s entertainment and sports company, as a “live music entertainment strategist.”
This collaboration of entertainment genius would contribute to the league’s activist campaign with hopes to inspire change within the culture.
Rihanna is currently signed to Roc Nation as an artist and managed by the label as well. During what will be the fourth halftime show under Roc Nation’s entertainment agreement, Rihanna’s “Navy” fans are already speculating if she will deliver new music during the performance and if there will be other artists that join her on stage.
We will have to wait and see.
